Apple Grows On Ghana Soil !!
We have all heard the sad and depressing stories that seek to discourage Ghanaians that the apple fruit is of a kind and cannot be grown in this part of the world- West Africa (Ghana specifically). Well i have shocking breakthrough news for you as a young man from the Ashanti region, Wiamoase suburb had his apple tree planted five years ago bear healthy fruits.
The joyful news of the "miracle tree" was shared on twitter with caption;
"Growing up, we were told this tree can only survive outside Ghana but thanks be to God this apple tree is producing its first fruit after five years. It was cultivated in Wiamoase - Ashanti Piawwww!!!."
Although it is believed that Apple cannot be cultivated in Ghana partly because of the country's climate and soil, the post by the tweeter handler seems to have debunked such wild claims.
It is alleged that the tree was planted by a young lady who died shortly after the seed began growing.
The owners are therefore calling on Agricultural researchers and experts to come and examine the tree, and if possible make available seeds and seedlings for production on a commercial basis.
This according to them will curb further importation of the fruit in the country. Well it seems Ghanaians on social media are not only exited by the development but surprised as well. some of them could not contain their joy as they took to tweeter to air their views on news.
Wow, great news
