Well Over 26,000 JHS students Feast On Nana Addo's Free Hot Meals Effective Today
Over 26,000 B.E.C.E candidates in 620 private and public Junior High Schools in the Upper East Region of Ghana will from today enjoy government's initiative of hot meals for final year students in JHS till they write their final exams.
President Akuffo Addo in his 15th address to the nation outlined measures to arrest the spread of the Covid-19 in the country. He stressed that the Gender, Children and Social Protection Ministry will provide one hot meal on a daily basis to all finalists partaking in the on-going Basic Education Certificate Examination, both students and staff inclusive.
A press release given by the Upper East Regional Secretariat of the Ghana school feeding programme and copied to Citi News cited that caterers are poised to prepare delicious and balanced meals for the beneficiaries of the rolled out scheme.
The Regional Coordinator of the Ghana School Feeding Programme, Mrs. Georgina Ayamba, hinted that the said meals for the candidates will be ready by 12 noon, adding that the caterers are mainly sourcing foodstuff locally.
She has given the assurance that her outfit will continue to monitor quickly solve any problems that will arise from the feeding programme.
